Hilary of Poitiers was a 4th-century church father known for
his biblical commentaries and exegesis on books of the bible. He also wrote
numerous historical works and works on the development of the church. While his
works have largely been supplanted by more recent church fathers, his works
remained pertinent to church and biblical history until Saint Ambrose and Saint
Augustine superseded Hilary.
Author Angelin Gazet published a work on the life and writings of Hilary,
this edition published in 1629 Antwerp by Plantin and Balthasar Moreti.
