A visual biography of Ernest Hemingway with many of the photographs published here for the first time. Almost all the photographers were people close to the author--friends and members of his family. Herein we find images of Ernest wearing a dress as a child, growing up in a late Victorian world, hunting in the Michigan woods, going off to war, marrying his first wife, living in Paris in the 20s, in the Spanish Civil War, World War II, and late in life in Cuba enjoying days of fishing.
