Kunzite is a variety of the mineral spodumene, belonging to the pyroxene group. Its chemical composition is lithium aluminum silicate (LiAlSi2O6). The presence of lithium is responsible for the species noticeable pink to lavender Tone.

Hand faceted in a striking cushion design resulting in a highly lustrous and very lovely gemstone.

58 facets

Like most round brilliant cut gemstones, cushion cuts are made up of 58 facets. The facet structure of a cushion cut is actually very similar to that of the round brilliant, making it one of the dispersive shapes. Although marginally less sparkly than the round diamond, cushion cuts emit greater fire due to their larger facets.

Kunzite is the best-known variety of the mineral spodumene. It's named after famed gemologist George Frederick Kunz, who was the first to identify it as a unique variety of spodumene. Kunzite gets its delicate and elegant color from trace amounts of manganese.

This gemstone displays pink tones with a soft suggestion of lavender resulting in a very refreshing colour.
