- Desotos Chronograph Watch Valjoux 72 movt. Panda Dial ------------ An exquisite chronograph from the 1960’s that won't be available very often- the Desotos Chronograph with Valjoux 72 movement. There is no wear on the bearings, this movement appears to be brand new from 50 odd years ago. Desotos was a watch brand produced by Georges Gay SA, Switzerland, from the 1960s to the 1980s. A pioneer in using ébauche methods for producing luxury chronographs. In 1988, Claude Meylan purchased Desotos and re-launched it under his own name. This Desotos chronograph is a remarkable example of this uncommon timepiece. Produced in the late 60's or the first couple of years of the 70's, this is the ultimate expression of the Valjoux 72. The Panda dial only makes it even sweeter. With its 40mm pump pushers waterproof stainless steel case, a refined Valjoux 72 caliber movement, and a captivating panda dial adorned with the elegant Desotos logo, this vintage chronograph is truly a stunning timepiece to wear and appreciate. The watch is in excellent overall condition. The caliber operates flawlessly, ensuring accurate timekeeping. The case appears to be untouched, retaining its original charm. The dial is immaculate, exhibiting no signs of aging, and the lume plots retain a fluorescence under UV, but have no retention power. 40mm screwback case.
