advertising automobile paper litter bag for Butson’s Food Centers John Day Oregon, Burns Oregon, and Payette
Idaho - Featuring SMOKEY BEAR. The bag points out that not only is litter a ‘National
Disgrace’ and health hazard, but also a fire hazard. The patent number on this
item (2,234,180) indicates 1941. Smokey was first used as a symbol in 1944. By
the 1960’s to the 1970’s Smokey litter bags were being made of plastic. The bag
measures 10-3/4” x 8-1/2”.
