This is a dual handed, thumb nail rim latch lock.
Lovely cast iron with brass fittings in a 'hand aged' pewter finish.
The brass components on the lock are unlacquered, these will age naturally over time.
The knob pair is made from true ebony wood.
Ebony is a very hard and heavy wood which wears well, making it an excellent choice.
This rim lock is complete with an emergency release function, this cannot be used when pairing with these knob pairs as the backplates will cover the hole on the reverse side.
Each lock is hand finished in pewter and is supplied with a matching lock keep.
The cromwell rim lock comes boxed with all fixing screws.
This unique design makes it perfect for both left and right hung doors and locks from both sides.
The latch is NOT reversible
