The Colorful Streetcars We Rode – CERA Bulletin 125 commemorates over forty years of the Central Electric Railfan’s Association (CERA). The book visits many of North American electric railway operations with photograph during that period. The narrative captions emphasize the historical aspects of the subjects in the photographs.

The Colorful Streetcars We Rode – CERA Bulletin 125 is the second book of the electric railway systems from 1929-1964 in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Cuba. Many of the cities and systems not included in Remember When are represented in this book. The books end in the mid-1960s when the public policy first began to recognize that transit did indeed have a permanent place in supporting the urban economy through the near future.

Almost all the photographs in this volume are being published for the first time. The narrative text and captions have been written to emphasize the development of the rolling stock and to recognize some of the people who have contributed to the street railway technology. The explanations feature some of the milestone achievements in streetcar design and their creators.

The publisher of The Colorful Streetcars We Rode Bulletin 125 is the Central Electric Railfan’s Association (CERA). The organization was formed in 1938.
