JOE PALOOKA

SUNDAY THIRD PAGE COMIC STRIPS

The JOE PALOOKA comic strip, created by Ham Fisher, was 

in print from April 19, 1930 through November 24, 1984.  After Fisher’s 

death in 1955, his assistant Moe Leff took over the strip.  In 1959, Tony DiPreta 

assumed art duties and Morris Weiss provided the scripts.  DiPreta remained with

 JOE PALOOKA until its conclusion. Ed Moore stepped in to take on the scripting 

sometime in the 1970’s and also stayed to the end.
