In order to celebrate and strengthen diplomatic and cultural ties between Brazil and Argentina, the iconic character “Mafalda”, created by Argentine artist Quino, was chosen to illustrate this issue. His comics are also quite successful in Brazil, with their intelligent humor and their sharp social criticism. The issue innovates by launching a souvenir sheet with eight stamps in two-strip format. The entire composition is in black and white, except for the face values of each stamp, the marks, bar code and name of Mafalda, which are blue in color, in honor of Argentina. The vignette bears the title of the issue and an illustration of the character – an excerpt from another quite famous comic strip. The technique used was computer graphics.
