Title: Small Archive of Materials from Louisville Basketball Player, John Prudhoe
Publication: [Louisville]: N.p., 1955

Description: Two newspaper clippings, one laminated and one backed; two original photographs, 10x8" and 7x5"; and an 11x14" Kentucky State Fair All-Star Collegiate Basketball Game certificate signed by E.A. Diddle. Generally near fine, the photos showing a bit of light rippling at edges and soiling to versos.

Interesting collection of materials from John Prudhoe (1932-2019), the 6'9" All American center from Louisville, 1951-1955, and later the NIBL. Includes a photograph and article from his first season with the Peoria cats, a photograph and article from his final season at Louisville, and most importantly, a certificate signed by the hall of fame coach from Western Kentucky State, Edgar A. Diddle (1895-1970), who coached the Kentucky side in the 2nd annual Kentucky-Indiana All-Star game.

Diddle is known as an early pioneer of the fast break offense, the first coach to coach 1000 games at one school, having just 5 losing seasons in his 42 years at WKU, and recruiting the first African American basketball players, Clem Haskins and Dwight Smith in the early 60's. His signature is very uncommon.
