Select Australia has released NRL Trading Cards Series from Year 2000 and continued 13 seasons until year 2012. There are total 21 NRL Card series released from year 2000 to 2012.

Between 2000 to 2004, Select Australia had only released 1 card series per year. 

Since 2001 NRL Impact card series, apart from signature cards, the chase cards of the Select NRL Trading Cards largely focus on the award winners and special events. the chase cards concept such as " Club Player of The Year", " Team of The Year", "Accolades" , " Dally M" were introduced and continued. 

CLUB PLAYER OF THE YEAR  has been one of the regular chase card subset in the Select NRL trading cards series.

The 2003 NRL XL SERIES CLUB PLAYER OF THE YEAR is a 15-card subset randomly inserted in the 2003 NRL XL Series packs at 1: 6 packs.
