Here we have a gorgeous, very scarce, turn-of-the-century Wedgwood creamware blue transferware turkey plate with hand-enameled polychrome color. Floral border, with matte gold edge. Impressed marks. Dinner plate sized. From an unknown antique Game Bird pattern (appears to be A4378 or possibly A4398 -- see brown painted mark on back.) We have lots of fabulous transferware in our store, to which we add new inventory daily, and we're always happy to combine shipping at actual cost.

Vintage: three-letter impressed mark on back indicates the year 1903

Maker/Markings: Wedgwood/see photos of back of plate

Approximate extreme measurements: 10.25" diameter

Condition: Our photos show the condition best and are the most important part of the description. Please enlarge and zoom in them to view the condition for yourself. Very clean, bright, and glossy piece that displays beautifully. No cracks, chips, or gray/silver utensil marks. The front is in excellent condition for its age, with the only issue being a few scattered, very small and very light, completely colorless, scratches to the glaze, the kind that can be seen when you hold up the piece at just the right angle to a bright source of light. Other issues that do not affect the display value because they cannot be seen from the front: a few spots with wear to the side only of the matte gold rim; spots with very light crazing along the rim on the back only; an unusually large kiln mark on the back. All issues are highlighted in close-up photos.

We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report. Corndogcache is a 100% non-smoking environment, and we'll let you know if any of our vintage items smell like it (or anything else) from activities they may have been involved in before they came to us.
