PRO Textured Power Taper Fly Lines offer increased surface area, allowing the line to sit higher in the water, offering less drag, easier mending, less water spray and easier pick-ups. The micro-textured surface traps air to provide increases in both shootability and floatation while decreasing friction. PRO Power Taper is designed for loading faster action rods at a half-size heavier than industry standard grain weight. The advanced compound taper design allows for easier turn-over of heavier rigs, including larger dries, dry-dropper rigs, nymphs, and streamers. The Power Taper will load a rod deeper and quicker than a traditionally weighted line, helping to enhance "feel" and improve timing during the cast. The 50' head adds length for better line control and loop stability and the longer head excels at on-water maintenance for mending on longer drifts.

Bought this for my 6 weight rod. Super quick to load which yields a massive/accurate cast. I would highly suggest this line for those that are looking for a little more power in their cast.

I had previously bought an Orvis Power Taper line in 3wt, which was a joy to fish. I set up a new 6wt outfit, and decided to re-visit the Orvis Power Taper. I couldn't be happier! It casts great, shoots great, mends easily, and lifts quickly. It exceeded my expectations.

I bought this line for my 5wt. Helios 2. This line dramatically increases distance by at least 20 %. I've found it especially useful when I've had to shoot line in tight quarters where a roll cast was needed but still had to make a long cast where a fish was tight to the far bank. This line just casts beautifully and makes an accurate, soft presentation. I've used premium lines from Orvis and other manufacturers and this line is superior to any other

I purchased textured 6 wt Pro Power Taper line. This is the second rod outfitter with the Pro Power Taper line. The line has improved my shooting distance and accuracy. It has excellent floating properties and enhanced my ability to turn over medium sized flies. I have found the Pro Power Taper line very durable.

So, we bought a new Pro Power Taper textured 8 weight line for my wife's new Hydros SL IV reel for Florida salt from the beach. She used it today for the first time. I watched and smiled as she hooked and released over 20 ladyfish. and a nice sheephead. She turned to me as we were leaving and said, "I've loved you for 50 years, and now I know why".

I received this for Christmas in a 6 weight and was frankly a bit skeptical of the claims. How much better could the Orvis Pro line be than the lines I already know? The answer it seems is quite a bit better! The 6 weight rod I use has always been a bit numb inside 30 feet or so, and this line has brought the upper section and lifeless tip of this rod to life. I'm very pleased (and surprised) at the performance. The line handles well on the water, mends easily and roll casts like a dream. Casting long is a breeze -- very powerful. It does everything very well. As far as my 6 weight -- it's alive! Thanks Orvis, well done!

I bought a 5 wt for my Helios 2 rod. I'm a frequent angler (150 days/year) and my original Power Taper line lasted me five years. Most of my fishing is done at distances of less than 30 feet and this line is the perfect match. Effortless tight loops. Nice job Orvis - again!

This line will cost you a little more but it is so worth it! The quality construction will make it last twice as long as a cheaper line anyway. If your presentation and ability to cast is important you must have this line.
