Privately Produced by The Colby Eight, an all-male a cappella group from Colby College in Waterville, Maine.  This LP appears to have been produced in 1959, the date which appears on the front cover after the group name, and the date at the end of the liner notes.  The last paragraph of the liner notes note a group of individuals "will be" (future tense) leaving the group with the graduating class of 1959. Discogs lists a date of 1962 for this LP, but I believe that is incorrect.  The date '62 shows up after the name of the lady who provided the hands shown on the front cover, as in Class of 1962.

One of the individuals leaving the group is Jay Whitman, who is identified as the 2nd tenor on the liner notes.  THE LP IS INSCRIBED BY "JAY" - "From Jay   'Close Harmony'  - March 3, 1962".  I can't say for sure, obviously, that this Jay is Jay Whitman, but it seems logical.

The jacket shows light to moderate edge and corner wear, very small split bottom edge about 1" wide, just to the left of center.  Besides the inscription, the previous owner magic marked her name on front jacket.  LP stored in original rice paper inner sleeve, LOOKS PLAYABLE with some light scratches over mostly clean vinyl, will grade VG+.
