Sports cards had been flourished since early 1990s when various sports and
entertainment trading cards of international and local production became
available in Australia. Unfortunately, there was only one Australia Soccer
cards released between 1978 to 2005-the 1994 Futera NSL Soccer. After all, despite
the popularity the Soccer in the grassroots, it was still a minority sport code
in Australia compared to the dominance of AFL, NRL even Cricket. It wasn't
until 2004 A- League formed and 2005 commenced its first competition that A-
League (Hyundai A-League) has become one of the country's primary sport competition
and gradually expands the teams as well as supporters base.
Select
Australia had produced 4 A-League trading cards Series from 2006/07 to 2009/10.
The 2009/10 A-League card
series is the the last A-LEAGUE CARD SERIES released by Select Australia. It is also a very limited release- only 3000 boxes released.
A-LEAGUE STARS SIGNATURE CARDS, is a 10-card subset released in this series featuring a selection of 10 stars autographed cards from 10 A-LEAGUE club, one card per club. Randomly inserted in the packs at the ratio of 1 card per box on average. Each card is individually numbered to 300.
