Mah Jongg Set With 148 Dovetailed Bone/ebony Tiles W/Old Brass Accented Wood Box

The backstory: Inherited from my late 93 yr old NY born mother. Given to her from an Eastern European born Aunt in the 1920's. See what I believe are the original booklets she received. She played with this set her entire life, until her final weeks of life. I would love this set to go to someone who will cherrish it as she did. They are not making more 100 yr old Mah Jongg sets like this.

I can say with great confidence that this set and all of its pieces were handcrafted using animal bone. The tiles are hand carved and are dovetailed into the bottom piece using ebony wood. There are a total of 140 tiles + 4 blanks, 2 Jokers (I believe) and two 9 bam (?). There’s 1 die also handcrafted in bone. There are 49 red sticks (9 each with 20 dots and 40 with 4 dots. There are 73 each black dot sticks (40 each with 8 dots and 33 each with 40 dots). All sticks are handcrafted from bone as well. There is also a hand carved cylinder with top that holds four small round chips marked in Chinese with N. E. W. S. (North, East, West, South), also made from bone.

SORRY NO REFUNDS OR RETURNS ACCEPTED. NOTE, WILL BE SHIPPED SIGNATURE REQUIRED.

The wooden box that hold all the pieces appears to be of very good quality considering its age with heavy brass appointments that include intricate etchings and designs. 4 lime green wooden trays are also included.

I am no expert on the Mah Jongg game and have never played, but I can guarantee this to be the real deal when it comes to collectibility in the world of Mah Jongg sets. I have done my best to describe a game I  heard played in the backround of my entire life.
