Up for bids is this nice 500mm telephoto lens with filters and HN-27 hood. This is the last version that Nikon produced of this lens.

The super telephoto reach of this 500mm lens is ideal for astronomy photography and can even used for wildlife and other subjects that are great distances away. It also does great work for landscape photography when you wish to flatten the distance between two subjects, such as wishing to make a Mountain look absolutely massive behind a building.

The reflex design keeps the overall size of the lens smaller than other 500mm lenses, so it will still fit in your camera bag.

The current Reflex-Nikkor lens was designed to replace the earlier popular version. Overall, the lens is much more compact in size than earlier version of the Reflex-Nikkor but a significant improvement was its close focusing ability which has improved down to just 1.5m (4.9ft.) from the 4m (13ft) range found on earlier version. Another amazing feat was its reproduction ratio which stands at 1:2.5 at its closest focusing distance. Further, the weight factor has improved proportionally to just 840g from the 1kg found on the first version. The lens has also supplied with a very well designed built-in rotating tripod mount which has a 360° rotation and click stop for vertical or horizontal shooting.

The lens also features a rear mount for 39mm filters, keeping the cost down for added glass, and giving you full flexibilty to be as creative as you want. The lens comes with 5 filters in total (one is mounted (a UV) and 4 others (primarily for Black & White filtration and a Neutral Density) are found in a separate case.

The lens also comes with a built in tripod mount for better balance and stability over your tripod legs 

Condition:
The lens has been sitting unused for the last few decades. It likely only saw occasional use back then as there are little signs of use. No fungus. Scratch free glass. As is typical to the time period, the 'leatherette' cases for the lens and the filters, have dried out and cracked or oxidized. They still serve the purpose of protecting the contents.

Paper work is in good condition. Box has some writing and some dents. Box and paperwork all have mathing serial numbers
