Here we have a very lightly-used, minty condition, Le Creuset red-enameled cast iron oval footed trivet. We have lots of French kitchen pieces in our store, including the round version of this same trivet in red, and we're always happy to combine shipping at actual cost.

Condition: Our photographs reveal the condition best -- please enlarge and zoom in on them, and examine them carefully. Very clean and fresh piece, nice and shiny with vivid color. Lightly used and well-cared-for piece. No stains, scratches, cracks or chips. No missing enamel, however this piece received a fairly light coat of enamel at the factory. At first, when we noticed dark areas within the sides of the openings, we assumed that the piece needed cleaning of built-up gunk, but that wasn't it at all. The dark areas are cast iron that wasn't completely covered by enamel at the factory -- see close-up photos showing enamel barely dripping down inside some of the openings. This mainly affects the outermost "lozenge" shaped openings. The good news is that its only noticeable upon very close examination, so the piece still displays beautifully; and, all of the important part along the top is fully glazed, so you don't need to worry about it affecting the usability or quality of the piece. Finally, all four feet have their original non-scratch rubber coating. Piece sits well with no wobbling. Again, absolutely nothing greasy or sticky, and no funky odors. Your great-great-great grandchildren will be passing this down for many generations to come.

We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report.
