The effect:



Vehicles of the older generation are often immobilized for a longer time after the summer season. Moisture in the air or water separated from the fuel actively promotes corrosion in the fuel tank, in the fuel supply lines and inside the engine. Aged fuel can cause deposits to form, fuel flow is reduced and injection behavior deteriorates. As a result, clogged nozzles, intake ducts and valves impair engine operation and increase polluting emissions and fuel consumption. The introduction of low sulfur fuels also reduces the lubricating effect on the fuel and injection system. The result is increased wear.
