An American contemporary artist, Joe was a well known graphic designer throughout New York and Connecticut and exhibited his work in Manhattan galleries for many years. His art appeared on the covers of publications including national magazines and his art was exhibited at Gallery Felicie in New York and Europe as well as the Correale Gallery in Rockport, MA. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Born and raised in New England, Joe had a great love for the scenic flavor of the Northeast, especially Rockport, MA and Vermont. His art reflected an amazing technical proficiency, a wide range of subject material, and a subtle sense of surrealism. He studied at the Paier College of Art and the Yale School of Fine Art. He was a member of the Paint and Clay Club of New Haven, Salmagundi Club in New York, the New England Watercolor Society, the Copley Society of Boston and the Rockport Art Association in Rockport, MA. He was the recipient of numerous awards from the American Watercolor Society and the American Artists of Renown, among others.
