- Thomas Browne's 1643 classic Religio Medici, or The Religion of the Doctor, is a spiritual meditation on the practice of medicine, viewed through the Christian virtues of Faith, Hope, and Charity. Throughout Religio Medici Browne uses scientific imagery to illustrate religious truths as part of his discussion on the relationship of science to religion.
