HEN AND CHICKEN FERN

Hen and Chicken ferns have soft feathery foliage and reproduce by forming offsets from the ends of the fronds, hence the name Hen and Chicken Fern. They establish well in moist forest areas and shaded gardens. They are low maintenance and provide a very attractive garden coverage.

These plants are cultivated from the native ferns in the Dandenong Ranges Victoria so they are adapted to Eastern temperate climates and are ideal for native gardens. They propagate and establish well and are helpful for retaining other native species and discouraging exotic weeds. These ferns are not consumed by deer.

Suited for full shade/part sun/full shade.

Requires moist soil with organic matter.

Propagated from offsets.

Plants on offer are about 13cm high and 20cm wide. Plants are sent via Express Post and packed in moist peat and are sent securely wrapped.
