This wire in Galvanic Isolator is designed to have NO exposed connections. It's incredibly easy to install - the connections are made by simple screw terminals - all you need is a screwdriver. And because the connections aren't exposed, it's safer, and the installation is far neater!

What is an AC Bypass Capacitor? A Galvanic Isolator works by blocking "Corrosion Currents". It's simple and cost effective, and thousands are sold every year. Unfortunately, some manufacturers cut corners by failing to fit an AC Bypass Capacitor. Without an AC Bypass Capacitor, an isolator may work very poorly, if at all. Don't buy a Galvanic Isolator without an AC Bypass Capacitor.
Why do I need a Galvanic Isolator? When a boat is connected to a shore based electric supply, the boat's metalwork reacts with other boats, the bankside, or any underwater metalwork to form a simple battery, with the water as the electrolyte. Current can then flow through the water, and as it does so, the boat's metalwork, (anodes, hull, prop' etc) corrodes away. If there are any small leakages from the boat's electrical system this becomes even worse, and can cause even more SEVERE damage to the vessel. A Galvanic Isolator is intended to give protection from these currents. It's a simple and effective device that could save you many thousands of pounds.
