This velvet bag is topped by an Antique Sterling Silver engraved frame.
The frame is from the 18th century but the white velvet bag is a later addition.
I decided to leave the two together but the purse's value is in the Silver Frame.
Work on frame is delicate and lovely. It opens and shuts well and shows no damage other than age related tarnishing of the silver.
The velvet bag shows some limited damage especially on the handles at the elbows. Also, the purse has some slight soiling and being white it shows everything that's even a little "off."
Frame is hallmarked with the French Boar's Head stamps for Sterling or 800 Silver.
The purse measures about 3.5 inches (9cm.) across at the elbows of the frame. It's about 6.5 inches (16 cm.) across at the widest point at the bottom. Height is about 4.5 inches (11 cm.).
Fabric handle has a drop of about 5.25 inches (13 cm.).
