LLP "Investment company "Khoper-Invest" - Russian a company that later became a financial pyramid,
whose activities have affected millions of people.
The Khoper-Invest company was registered in 1992 in Volgograd. The company conducted active advertising campaign
to attract public funds and by the end of 1994had branches in 75 regions of Russia. In the filming of advertising
famous artists of the cabaret duo “Academy” and Sergei Minaev participated in the videos.
At the beginning of December 1994, the Chairman of the Federal Commission for Securities and the Stock Market
under the Government of Russia, Anatoly Chubais, in his statement, sharply criticized the activities of Khoper-Invest.
In particular, he noted that some of the Khopr companies connected by common founders, use “classic pyramid schemes”.
Soon after A. Chubais’s statement, Khoper-Invest stopped payments. At that time, the financial pyramid owed
about 500 billion non-denominated rubles to four million depositors. Defrauded investors
filed applications to
law enforcement agencies, and as a result it was initiated criminal case for fraud.
