Cover franked with 5c Washington, tied by Lakehurst machine cancel (May 6), violet flight cachets on front and back, signed "C.M. Cowart", one of the three ground crewmen at San Diego that held fast to the mooring line and were pulled hundreds of feet into the air, to the USS Pennsylvania at San Pedro, at the time part of the Scouting Fleet of the Pacific, with contemporrary newspaper cutout showing Cowart hanging on, a desirable Akron cover.
