Here we have 2-piece footed cup and saucer sets from Rosenthal (Germany) in the scarce Polar Blume pattern on the Variations-shape with heavily textured vertical lines. We are offering them by the each set of two pieces. Minimalist floral stems in black on white, can be mixed with solid white and black pieces of Variations for exact matches. One of the last dinnerware designs of Tapio Wirkkala (Finland 1915-1985,) who was a sculptor and is considered one of the greats of post-war design.

We have other pieces in this pattern (demitasse cup and saucer sets, and a 5-piece partial coffee service set) in our store, to which we add new inventory daily, and we're always happy to combine shipping at actual cost. Last two photos show all of the pieces we have in this pattern. This listing is only for the standard footed cup and saucer sets.

Shipping: $9.95 for the first set; $3.00 for each additional (Street addresses to the Continental US only -- po boxes and Alaska/Hawaii, message us with your zip code for your rates)

These 2-piece footed cup and saucer sets, of which we had 12 when this listing started, are being sold by the each set of two pieces. The price shown is for one set of a cup and a saucer, and you may purchase as many as are currently available -- see the drop down menu at the very top, from which you will need to choose the number desired. If, for instance, the drop down menu shows a maximum number of 1, that means that 11 sets have already sold, and only 1 set remains, so you may purchase just the one set. If you're having trouble finding the dropdown menu from the app on your smart phone, it is because eBay hid it very well -- try looking for it on the browser version (on a computer) where it's a whole lot easier to see.

Vintage: this pattern was in production for a very short time circa 1985

Capacity/Measurements: 6.5 fl oz when filled to the brim; please see photos with rulers for measurements

Condition: All pieces are very clean and very fresh, bright and shiny. The cups are in mint condition, showing no signs of use. We almost never use the term "mint" to describe vintage dinnerware because there is almost always some flaw, if only a teeny tiny one, that can be found on a pre-owned item. We've examined these pieces carefully, and the cups are completely free of chips, cracks, stains, gold/silver utensil marks, any other type of marks, and scratches. We don't even see a single completely colorless scratch to the glaze, thus, we have to say that they're in mint condition. The same is true of the saucers with one exception -- they do have some scattered, very light, completely colorless, scratches to the glaze, the kind that show up when you hold the piece up at just the right angle to a direct source of light. Really quite remarkable condition on pieces from a scarce set of important 20th Century design.

We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report. Corndogcache is a 100% non-smoking environment, and we'll let you know if any of our vintage items smell like it (or anything else) from activities they may have been involved in before they came to us.
