It is currently unknown how many copies were produced for any of the three printings.

The 1st printing has a 50-cent cover price and states "JAN 1973" in the indicia on the inside front cover.

The 2nd printing has a $1.00 cover price and states "OCTOBER 1973" in the indicia on the inside front cover.

The 3rd printing also has a $1.00 cover price and it erroneously states "SECOND PRINTING APRIL 1976" in the indicia on the inside front cover.

The logo on the front cover's upper left corner of the first three issues is for Cocoanut Comix, an imprint related to the Air Pirates collective, whose membership included Ted Richards. The first three issues of Dopin' Dan, though distributed by Last Gasp, were actually Air Pirates collective publications, as were Dan O'Neill's Comics and Stories, Merton of the Movement, Left Field Funnies, and The Dirty Duck Book.
