Up for auction here is an absolutely stunning MARY ROSE SHIP IN A BOTTLE, which is crafted down to the very finest and  most intricate detail. This historical flagship of King Henry VIII's Tudor Navy is handmade from finest quality glass, which has then been gilded in 24Kt Gold and also has a little striped front sail and a large Regal cross on the main centre sail, as well as strikingly detailed gun ports running along both sides of the hull in this stunningly accurate reminder of days gone by. The main body of the ship includes the Hull, Gun ports, front and rear raised decorative castles, masts and flags, with sail on the front bow, and then, moving backwards down the hull we can see the masts, sails, and at the very back the flagpole, to complete this remarkably lifelike reconstruction of this historical maritime icon. This beautifully crafted piece has then been superbly fitted inside an equally stunning handmade glass bottle, which also has a fitted stopper in the neck complete with matched circular design, which is again brilliant in thought and design. The final piece of this item is the premium quality wooden fitted base which comes complete for the bottle to rest on, and this is made of darkened mahogany shaded wood complete with little arched and fitted legs for the bottle to rest snugly and safely upon and then has a brass nameplate affixed to confirm this is indeed THE MARY ROSE. 1545 Henry VIII's Flagship. As if all of this workmanship is not enough, the item also comes in quality packing as shown in the accompanying photographs, meaning it could actually be given as a lovely gift without any further wrapping needed. The Mary Rose is a carrack-type warship of the English Tudor navy of King Henry VIII. After serving for 33 years in several wars against France, Scotland, and Brittany and after being substantially rebuilt in 1536, she saw her last action on 19 July 1545, when her life as a serving Navy ship came to an abrupt end, when she sank during the Battle of the Solent while, once again, leading the attack on the French invasion fleet.
