CECIL ALDIN

ORiGINAL1904 BOOK PLATE (REF CA 8)

This is an attractive item from my own collection and an unmounted lithograph from a charcoal and chalk book illustration by Cecil Aldin (1870 – 1935). It is one from a series of original bookplates recovered from a vintage discarded 1904 volume of “The Snob” by Walter Emanuel. I believe some illustrations had been removed. I enclose a photo of the cover and title pages for details. The illustration measures approximately 6” x 8¼” on slightly larger 8¼” x 10½ ivory cartridge paper and the reverse is blank. There are signs of handling and tanning at the edges of the pages. Please study the images for more information or message me if you have any queries. My price includes FREE P&P to mainland UK Post Codes and your item will be protectively and appropriately packaged and promptly mailed from mainland UK.

Cecil Aldin (1870 – 1935) was a British artist and illustrator best known for his paintings and sketches of animals, sporting and rural life.
