This is a Sony F-55 Super35 CineAlta camera body in full working order. It has been used for many years but also well looked after and serviced regularly at CVP in london where it was also originally bought. It has fair wear and tear on the outside, but since these are fully digital cameras with essentially no moving parts, wear and tear is more about aesthetics and whether it has been subjected to extreme environments or taken a lot of knocks or not - this one has not!

Two of the most important internal circuit boards were replaced by CVP engineers when a fault emerged around 12 months ago. Whilst they were being switched out, the engineers also reinforced the connectors to them which is the only weak point in the design, so the life of the camera has likely been greatly increased. You are welcome to speak to Brett at CVP who can give you the full service history of the camera if needed and I should have some paperwork somewhere to support. Generally speaking it's had a full service and scrub approximately every 18 months since i bought it from them.

1586 hours on the clock - so not a high mileage one from a kit house that has been used and abused.

The lens mount has been changed due to a crack in the plastic of the original one (although I still have it if you prefer). This one is metal and actually better in my opinion as it’s lighter and easily as strong. The back focus is unaffected….and yes, the customised, engraved port cap is included!

All the camera's sockets and ports are fully functional.

This camera is still a giant of image making. To this day it still makes beautiful pictures which cut in extremely well with the Sony Venice/Venice2. If used in combination with an AXS-R5 or ASX-R7 raw recorder you can have X-OCN footage - which is full 16-bit - the same as the Venice.

This is why these cameras are still SO sought after - it was used for the first season of Netflix's The Crown in this way, as it opens up the latitude of the camera to it's full capabilities...

The PL to FZ lens mount has been replaced. I still have it and it still functions if you want it too, but it doesn't look so nice. This one is slightly lighter weight and easily as strong. Back focus is unaffected.
