Includes 1960s Wood Block

Woodblock is a Vintage 1960s in poor condition but it works.

AS-IS CONDITION. I've seen a lot of drummer invented "things". I know what this is. I don't exactly know what it was. My best guess is originally it was a 1920s Ludwig (Patent Pending) two tone tuned woodblock bass drum hoop mount holder. Then again it could have been a tom holder. Possibly it was a one eyed one horned flying purple piccolo holder. In anyt event I simply couldn't toss an original 1920's Ludwig logo item.

Along the way the upper arm snapped off at the friction swivel clamp. See photos. Both sides of the friction grooves are present though you have to look hard to find one side as it's now on the top. The steel is very thick and strong.

Possibly the instrument it hosted was heavy like a Chinese tom, or did he simply hit it too hard? Was it Keith Moon's great grandfather and flying rosewood blocks went everywhere ?
Did his bass drum spur break off and his drum set roll off the stage? (This actually happened to me with a Tama/Camco series spur.) I don't know. We will never know. After speculating for years now it's your turn.

One "things" for sure. It has a nice example of a 5/16th 1920s wing bolt on the business portion which alone can sell for up to $80cad. Both the male and female threads are good. The bolt turns smoothly all the way and the pressure plate is still nicely attached. At the very least you have a very old Ludwig woodblock holder. You could always use the two upper screw bolts to add a swiveling ashtray or cell phone mount to your vintage kit. Go nuts.

Whatever happened the original owner used great ingenuity and repurposed it into a working 2 hole swiveling woodblock holder. The upper block posts are approximately 1 7/8 Inches apart and fit the block.
