Vintage August 1963 24 Jewel Men's Watch

Automatic/Self-Winding

FOR REPAIR

This is a Seiko Self Dater 24 Jewel automatic watch manufactured August, 1963.

As you can see from the pictures, the top of the stainless steel case is has been polished to a "velvet" finish (not by me). The sides and bottom are polished stainless steel. There are few noticeable scratches on the case and crystal (see pictures). They can be easily brushed and/or buffed away.

The dial of the watch is silvery with a sunburst texture. It has extremely rare round, silver colored marks for the hours ; there are no marks for the minutes/seconds. At 9 o'clock, it says SEIKO / SELFDATER; the applied "Seiko" is bent. At 3 o'clock, it says 24 JEWELS. It has a date window at the 3 o'clock mark. The crown, at 3 o'clock, is flush with the body of the watch. It has a screw-back case bottom and comes with an after-market multi-colored NATO strap.

I am not a watchmaker, but I have tested the watch as best as I could. It does not run and needs repair.

The dimensions are:

44mm long, lug to lug; the lug width is 22mm

36mm wide, including the crown (right side, 3 o'clock mark)

10mm thick, from the top of the crystal to the bottom of the case
