HEC 50-30KW air cooled AC Induction Motor, also known as Fimea N50D3. 50KW maximum power output 30KW constant at with 400A 96V power supply (96V can be supplied by 32x LifePO4 batteries, or various Tesla battery modules). Unused by me but used for a short time by EV Europe (Sister company to EV West) in a VW T25 demo vehicle before I bought it. (See final picture of an EVEurope Type 2 conversion using the same motor)
Ideal for classic aircooled VW Beetle (standard, 1302 or 1303) or Transporter (Type 1, Type 2, aircooled T25, probably type 3 too) but can also be used in another small classic, like original Fiat 500, 600, Citroen 2cv, mk1 Smart or a Citroen-based kit car. Will need gearbox adaptor plate or ev-specific transmission, please see my other listings for a suitable VW aircooled adaptor plate.
Weighs about the same and gives roughly the same power as a 1600 twinport VW aircooled motor, so no need for a stronger gearbox or (according to DVLA) any need to class the vehicle as 'heavily modified' if it's fitted to a VW - as long as you don't exceed the host vehicle's maximum carrying capacity with a giant battery pack you can just swap the engine serial number on the V5 to remain legal. This means you can retain the original 'tax exempt' classification, though you will have to put your classic in for a yearly MOT.
