Cine-Kodak model A-mechanical (FIRST 16mm camera)+VERY RARE Hand crank+Book+NICE
This is a quite Hard to find early series ( Circa early 1920's) Kodak Cine-Kodak (model A) - mechanical Hand crank 16mm camera with and EXTREMELY Rare detachable side crank attachment (Not the standard long arm slow motion attachment but looks similar without the "C" marking and has a short crank arm) - this camera is guessed to be an early commercial series to easily change between the motor and hand wind unit. This camera is said to be Kodaks first production movie camera and is the world's first 16mm movie cameras. This Wow metal bodied, early cine camera has a manual hand crank film advance, a selectable top or rear view finder, clock hand type shift type exposure controls and a fantastic Deco Kodak camera design with a prominent "EKC" on its side, "Patented in the USA February 7, 1922 other patents pending" below its crank arm, and "Cine-Kodak 01686 " on its front plate.
The camera comes exactly as shown - in very nice condition showing minor cosmetic wear/age showing some paint wear with No dents, minor inner door name etching. The camera has a nice moving advance wind crank that properly couples to the film feet counter, on the rear the 2 viewfinders are viewable and the selection switch works properly, with no cracks, light dust/haze/spots. There is a small swing cover that allows for what appears to be through the lens viewing and the shutter movement checking that has a glass cover showing some stress marks. The lens looks good with no scratches, light haze, The aperture works properly. The focusing arm moves nicely but I am truly not sure if it is focusing the lens; the lens does not appear to move when the arm is moved. When looking in the finder that is inside of the film chamber, it does not appear to change. I see what looks to be a small screw hole near the lens position that I do not see a screw inside of - it might the design or this camera might need some servicing for the focus?
This camera comes with a Kodak film take up spook and its original Kodak Cine-Kodak instruction manual (manual shows minor wear/age with light pencil writing on the inner first page) too.
