We HIGHLY recommend you connect the source output cable to the 3.5mm input jack on the Right speaker (2nd picture provided) that has the controls on it as this point gets the signal closer to the destination, resulting in a stronger signal which gives greater detail and sonic dimension. When we compared the two connection options, we unequivocally favored the sound quality of the 3.5mm input jack on the right speaker over the 3.5mm input jack on the back of the sub. Instruments and vocals were more realistic, and we heard more detail in ambient space that recordings were captured (reverb, reflections, timbres). This is especially more apparent when orienting the supplied green 3.5mm male-to-male signal cable. We've marked the source end on the green plug, and this is the end that sounds best when plugged into your source (computer output jack, game console, phone etc.).
