About the Stamps:
This issue is composed of a se-tenant of two stamps vividly portraying the Lacerda elevator, through a beautiful panoramic photograph captured from the top of the city. The se-tenant brings the symbolism of uniting the Cidade Alta (Upper City) and Cidade Baixa (Lower City) in two stamps, connected by this monumental structure that is one of Salvador’s main postcards. On the left side is the robust construction located in the Cidade Alta, and on the right side, the tower with the elevator cabins that go down to the Cidade Baixa level. The observation platform connects the stamps each other and provides stunning views of the sunset flooding through the windows. It is also possible to see the Baía de Todos os Santos (All Saints’ Bay) and a unique view of Salvador’s rich urban landscape. The techniques used were photography and computer graphics.
