“Homes still are all along the bayou with beautiful lawns, so you dare not dig in the residential part, but it’s a different story where the urban renewal is going on. Incidentally 100 or so years ago homes were also along the part that is now a bottle collector’s paradise. When buildings were being torn down in a solid block on Main Street along the Bayou, several Wells and privies were found and yielded many good bottles including pontil medicines, Lady’s Legs, whiskeys, etc
