Here's the perfect jacket for year round use in both town and country courtesy of John G Hardy (by Appointment to the late Queen). The jacket was hand tailored in Ireland; naturally it's of outstanding quality.

A traditional tweed jacket of this quality will cost you £400+ brand new, while similar jackets in comparable condition routinely sell for £100+ on eBay - so this is a great opportunity to buy an outstanding item at a very reasonable price.

The jacket is tailored from a tightly woven pure new wool in a traditional Russell check.

The cloth's actual character is best captured in the close-ups, photo 7 in particular. The jacket is naturally breathable, and very comfortable to wear.

Features of the jacket include: beautiful tailored 'hourglass' fit; a buttoned storm tab at the collar; best quality real horn buttons; four outside pockets; three pockets on the inside - two wallet / document pockets; a satin viscose lining in the torso; lighter viscose linings in the sleeves; twin rear vents.

The jacket is in very good overall condition: essentially it's flawless except for a little light discolouration to the linings of the sleeves (photo 9). This will be invisible during normal use.

Most importantly the jacket is completely free of moth damage, scent or odour. Don't be fooled by the light creasing apparent in the pictures - this will naturally disappear with use.

In terms of sizing the jacket is unlabelled, but fits as a generous 42 / slim 44 Regular: worn loose enough for a waistcoat or pullover underneath it should be suitable for someone around 5' 10" tall with a 42" to 43" chest; worn snug / fitted over just a shirt it may be suitable for a 43" to 44" chest.

Returns due to problems with sizing are not accepted for this item, so please consider the following measurements very carefully:

armpit to armpit 22 3/4"; armpit to cuff 17 1/2"; shoulder seam to cuff 25 1/2"; collar seam to cuff measured along the outside of the sleeve 32"; shoulder seam to shoulder seam 18"; across the waist 23 1/2"; length, base of collar to hem 30".
