This bio sponge filter is the optimal water filtration system for aquariums and ensures proper oxygenation for a clear and healthy aquarium. It also provides both mechanical and biological filtration and comes with detachable parts which are easy to install and use.

The good bacteria will thrive on the large surface area of the ribbed sponges to help break down waste and impurities to ensure optimum water quality.

Please note this aquarium filter must be operated by an air pump (5W and above) with a 4mm air hose. Both of these are not included. Please select a powerful enough air pump according to your aquarium size.

Unlike other sponge filters, ours comes with an air stone which effectively increase the dissolved oxygen in water.

Direction of Use

1. Remove the top cap and then the sponge from the internal stem.
2. Use a thin object like a screw driver to remove the face plate from the base. Add the provided bio media or media of your choice and air stone.
3. Reassemble the faceplate, sponge and top cap.
4. Insert the L Connector into the hole at the bottom of the filter container and attach an airline tube (not included) connected to an air pump to the end of this.
5. Place the unit into your aquarium, repeatedly squeezing the sponge in order to saturate the sponge to avoid floating and thus enable the filter to sink to the bottom of your fish tank.
6. Turn on your air pump and watch the filter go to work.

Maintenance & Cleaning

• Use aquarium water to clean the biochemical sponge, to prevent killing the friendly bacteria stored in the sponge, which is essential to reducing ammonia in your aquarium. This should be done every 3-4 weeks.
• Replace the sponge and bio media balls every 6 months.
