Commemorating the 1974 publication of Stephen King release of CARRIE. Thus, this is the 50th anniversary of CARRIE. This is a UK first edition hardcover of CARRIE published by Hodder & Stoughton in 2023 for Special Edition Books. The print run was extremely limited and was available only to UK customers, 1 per customer. The book comes wrapped in black tissue paper, sealed with the constant reader label and comes with bonus items shown in the photo, namely four art prints, an enamel 'Constant Reader' badge and a printed question and answer session with Stephen King. The book is issued in pictorial boards without jacket and features an entirely new cover design rendered in gold foil. There are also exclusive designed end papers, ribbon marker and sprayed page edges to match the book design.

From the WWW. Carrie was written in 1973 when King was dirt poor, living in a trailer and trying to support two kids on a high school teacher's salary supplemented by the occasional sale of a horror story to a men's magazine. By his own account, he was angry, depressed, and liable to drink away his paycheck if left unsupervised.
