Headphone Headband Retrofit / Repair Kit

Modification Kit, MDR-XB1000 HB1, enhances or repairs the headband portion of your MDR-XB1000 headphones. This modification is applied to the standard Headband, adding a cushion for enhanced comfort.

Kit contains:
3 Removal Strips (Helps remove the residual leather coating from the base fabric for better adhesion)
1 Leather Strip (With self adhesive tape pre applied and sized for the MDR-XB1000 headband)
1 Leather Cushion Pad (with self adhesive tape)


Application Steps:

Use supplied removal strips to stick to the damaged area and peel away any loose leather coating from the base fabric. The new leather strip will stick better to the base fabric layer than the old leather coating. (See images for reference)
Partially peel away the liner from the new Leather Strip and align in the center of the headband and to the edge where the fabric starts. (See images for reference)
Peel away the liner while carefully applying the Leather Strip to the top of the Headband. (See images for reference)
Wrap the Leather Strip around the headband and press firmly to get an even wrinkle free bond. Some waves will appear on the underside of the band but they will be covered later by the Cushion Pad. (See images for reference)
Apply the Leather Cushion Pad to the underside of the Headband. Apply pressure all around to ensure good bonding. Compress slowly and gently on the Leather Cushion Pad to prevent bursting it. Air will leak out from within, and after application the Cushion will return to shape. (See images for reference)
