This belt has the best modern material for longevity but also the perfect dampening and grip! It has the proper durometer rating for this job. Our belt is thicker than other replacement belts, yet still supple, and resists temp changes so much better than the thin OEM belts, important when considering the way we transport our gear on the road in different climates, as well as storing it in various environments. The OEM belt also unfortunately deforms as the unit sits unused. For the musician who greatly depends on reliably performing gear for their income, it's worth installing a more reliable and robust belt in your unit, especially when our belt costs LESS than the OEM replacement!
We've tested other belt material but found this particular belt to have the quietest and smoothest operation, important for the Motion Sound legacy rack systems since microphones reside in the same enclosure as the belt drive.
Recommended maintenance with the rotary chamber open:
- Lubricate bearings (we recommend Supco Zoom Spout lubricating oil).
- Re-tighten motor mounts (bolt/nut on each side of motor), as they come loose after repeated moving around of the unit between gigs.
- Clean both the motor and rotary pulley grooves with a Q-tip moistened with 70-99% alcohol.
