A shabby but characterful old bible with brass studded leather boards, raised bands and gilt tooling. The leather is scuffed and edge worn, the joints are rubbed but sound. Inside all the prelims are missing, and pages 3-6 have become detached, they are torn and creased with loss, as is the title page and first page. Things improve thereafter, the pages are stained, browned and foxed but bound in quite firmly. There are lots of corner creases and the bottom edges of some pages look a bit chewed. There are some lovely ink inscriptions at the front and back giving names and dates of family members.
