Poster from the illustration by Edmond Casarella for the International Science and Technology magazine, February 1962.

Cover illustrated by Edmond Casarella:

'Edward Cassarella dealt with the problem of, as he puts it, "describing the feeling of a mechanical device in visual terms" by making a monoprint. This still unusual technique is becoming more popular because artists like the flexibility and spontaneity it permits. The artist constructs his picture in inks on glass or metal plate, then presses paper against the plate to transfer the image. Casarella is both printmaker and painter, has taught at Brooklyn Museum and at Yale Summer Art School, has received a Fullbright fellowship and Guggenheim and Tiffany awards.'
