For sale, a STALAG dogtag from a POW camp. STALAG 308 (also know as STALAG VIII-E) was a German WW2 POW camp located near Neuhammer in Silesia (now in Poland) It was build in 1939 to house the prisoners from the invasion of Poland, after May 1940 they were joined by French prisoners taken during the battle of France. In July 1941 the Poles and French were moved out to make place for the many Russian POWs. It was liberated by the Red Army in February 1945.
This dogtag is in relic condition, it was a ground dug find from a dump site / garbage pit in former Eastern Germany. The tag is broken in 2 and in relic condition.
