Truly an amazing piece of artwork and collector piece. This is an old, handmade crib/baby quilt, estimating from around the 1930s +/-? Quilt features a red and off-white grid pattern with the cutest red Scottie dogs that are hand appliquéd. There are a total of 8 Scottie dogs. Each Scottie dog also has hand-embroidered details that give them all playful personalities and brings them to life. The allover red quilting is beautiful and appears to be all hand done. The thin red sashing to create the grid appears to have possibly been appliquéd by machine as there are some areas where the maker missed sewing down the red fabric, see photo for example. The quilt is very thin/lightweight and has very thin/small amount of batting.

Condition: Quilt is in its original, found condition. Quilt does have surface dirt and several spots/stains randomly throughout on the front and back. I have not treated or laundered. Some of the embroidery threads on some Scottie dogs may be worn, broken, stained, or loose, please see photos. A few Scottie dogs may have some fraying/seams turned up. The red border does show some wear and there is a small snip and frayed spot, see photo.
