Over 30 years ago I purchased my first home in San Leandro California. The home was built in 1915 with a large automotive repair shop for the original owner who was a mechanic dating back to the early 1900’s. From what I can tell he used the shop until he retired in the late 1940’s. When he retired he left the shop exactly as it was at that time. When I purchased the home some 50 years later from his heirs I got the shop with all its contents. I am starting to list some of the paperwork from his shop. The paperwork is mostly from the early 1900’s to about World War 2. It includes rare Auto Repair Manuals, Auto Instruction Manuals, Dealership Brochures and much much more. He also specialized in tractor repair for Caterpillar / C.L. Best Tractor (which was walking distance from his home) and I have paperwork associated with those tractors as well.
