HEALTHY FISH

If pet fish such as Arowana, Guppy, Beta, Tetra, Gourami, Apistos are 'unhealthy' such as wounds or rotten scales, add a leaf of ketapang. It is a source of medicine to fish because:

i. Lower the pH of alkaline water

i. Removes bacteria and harmful chemicals

iii. Absorbs iron and manganese metals

iv. Creating comfortable water conditions for pet fish

Dried ketapang when soaked in water will form a solution of organic acids such as humic and tannin. It will lower the pH of the water, absorb iron and manganese metals and create comfortable water conditions for pet fish/shrimp as if it were their original habitat in a river or swamp. The acid released can kill bacteria in the aquarium.

RULES

Rinse the leaves before soaking them in the aquarium filter tank. After 1-2 days the leaves will sink. It produces a brownish dye and changes the color of the water. This dye contains tannic acid and natural organic material for the fish's pet environment. Remove the leaves after 10 days of use. Recommendation 1 leaf for 20 liters of water.

BLACKWATER

Boil the leaves to produce blackwater essence and use when needed. Blackwater can also be produced by soaking the leaves for 10 days.
