Personally I find these two wooden plaques from 1972 to be rather rare, as I never found the woodburning set kits themselves that these two individual plaques came from.  These two wooden plaques are obviously only a very small partial part of the entire kit which was marketed as an arts-and-crafts item in 1972.  (I imagine if one could get his hands on the entire NFLPA Kit itself, he would have a very nice collectible.)

The entire kit came with 16-individual player wooden plaques measuring approximately 4" x 4 1/4".  Also 2 generic players were included in the kit.  The player plaques were blank backed and unnumbered.  The legendary and Hall-of-Famer Lance Alworth of Arkansas Razorback, San Diego Charger, and Dallas Cowboy fame, along with Daryle Lamonica of Notre Dame and Oakland Raider fame, are the only two plaques I have been able to come up with to put on EBAY.  The idea of the kit was for the player image to be burned out with a tool and then painted by the collector.

If you know collectors well enough, you'll know that the die-hard supporters will take a partial set as a challenge to find the complete set.  With my turning 80 this year, I have neither the time nor the desire to attempt to chase down an entire 1972 NFLPA Woodburning Kit.  But if a fan likes/loves/needs an Alworth and Lamonica plaque, this can be your lucky day!

Thank you for viewing my EBAY-auction item.  (Please note:  I do not ship internationally.)  God bless.
